FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

Were you really pregnant in the movie Flywheel?

Yes and No. Janet was pregnant for half of the movie. Filming started in November of 2002 and Janet delivered Ashlynn on December 27th, so Janet is wearing a fake belly for some scenes. You might want to watch the movie again and see if you can tell when she is really pregnant and when she is just wearing the fake belly.

Is that really your child at the end of Flywheel?

Yes baby “Faith” was really Janet’s 2 month old daughter Ashlynn Grace.  Originally baby Ashlynn was going to be dressed in boy’s clothing because the original script called for “Faith” to be a boy named after Max. According to the original script, Max was going to die, but after Alex decided to alter that sub-plot, Janet asked if the baby in the movie could be a girl.  Alex agreed after he thought that naming the child Faith would be great for the story.

Did the script call for Judy to be pregnant, or was that written in?

No the pregnancy was written in since Alex believed that Janet was the one God had for the part. The pregnancy was one of the first big lessons on faith that she learned while filming. Janet had reservations about doing the movie because she was pregnant and knew that she would more than likely end up on bed rest like she did with her previous child. After much prayer, Janet & Steve knew that God was asking them to trust in Him to provide and to step out in faith to do the movie. Janet did end up on partial bed rest, but God had everything under control and filming went on as scheduled.

What was your favorite thing about working on Flywheel?

“My favorite part about working on Flywheel was being able to see God work in such miraculous ways every day during the filming. God’s fingerprints were all over the making of this movie, and I can still remember how he came through for us in so many ways. My faith and personal walk with God grew so much over that time. It’s amazing to me that God allowed me to be a part of something so wonderful and that he is still using it to this day!”

Were you in Facing The Giants?

If you look closely you will see Janet in Facing the Giants. She played the school teacher who gives Brock his A+ paper, and you can also spot her in the crowd scenes a lot since she was the extra coordinator.

Are you going to be in the future movies from Sherwood Pictures?

If God opens the door for Janet to be in front of the camera for Sherwood Pictures again she will definitely walk in, but only God knows for sure. You will more than likely see her name in the credits because her passion is movie making and Janet will always be there to help out in any production Sherwood does.

Did you have any prior acting experience before Flywheel?

Actually Janet did get a chance to work on shows like Second Noah, SeaQuest DSV and MMC, but she never did a feature film nor had this big of a role. When Janet married and moved to Albany she thought any chance of acting was gone, little did she know that 3 years later God would allow her to be the in Flywheel.
